Lift Operator

The Lift Operator is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of HoliMont’s eight ski lifts.  Lift Operators will assist passengers with loading and unloading. Lift Operators are key staff to ensure a fun and safe skiing and riding experience for our membership and guest.  Successful Lift Operators will enjoy working outdoors and providing top-notch customer service by interacting with all lift passengers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be on time for your shift, as determined by the Supervisor.
  • Successfully completed training modules on operational and emergency procedures and related equipment needed to perform assigned duties.
  • Operate chairlifts and lift conveyors assigned to them on a specific day.
  • Prepare and maintain safe loading and unloading areas.
  • Advise and assist lift passengers with loading and unloading.
  • Assist in managing lift line flow and loading procedure.
  • Interact and communicate with all members and guests with grace and positivity.
  • Participate in Themed Events as outlined by the Supervisor.

 

NOTE:  All HoliMont employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends. 

Qualifications

  • Lift Operators must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Good work ethic and dependability.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Lift or Mechanical experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Willing and able to perform prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces.

Requirements

  • Work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment and high voltage.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment as outlined during training.
  • The ability to work in adverse weather conditions including wind, snow, ice
  • Willing and Able to work in wet conditions and very cold temperatures.
  • Shoveling snow and/or Ice required
  • Good communication skills and ability to accurately follow instructions
  • Available as scheduled on Weekends, and Holidays

Requirements

  • Willing and able to teach outdoors in inclement winter weather.
  • Fit and able to perform skiing or riding while assisting guests with equipment, loading, and unloading chairlifts, and down the mountain.

The Rental shop technician will assist our membership and guests with rentals, repairs, and tuning.   • Accept training and pass binding certification tests as required.
  • Sell, rent, repair, and tune all winter sports equipment.
  • Assist all members and guests with rental and sales.
  • Verify rental form is completed and signed by all.
  • Support Ski Shop Staff with requested tasks such as cleaning, inventory, maintenance, and management of rental equipment fleet.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Support Rental Manager in all binding testing and equipment repairs.

Snow Maker

The Snowmaker is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and snow creation across the mountain. With three shifts that run throughout the day and night, snowmakers get the opportunity to be on the mountain first and leave last. Become an expert on the mountain and get a chance to experience the first snow of the season.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate snowmaking equipment for creating manufactured snow from water resources
    Produce quality snow using air, water, and fan equipment.
  • Constant relocation of guns and hoses to various areas around the mountain.
  • Adjusting, turning or moving snow guns, sometimes by hand, to maintain snowmaking efficiency
  • Adjusting the water and or airflow to snow guns
  • Document and report mechanical/safety issues, complete maintenance logs, and checklists
  • Perform light maintenance or repairs on equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned while waiting for optimum snowmaking weather
  • Work closely with and assist other departments such as Grooming, Ski Patrol, Lift Operations
  • Test the quality of snow as it is made, reporting findings and conditions to the supervisor
  • Drive snowmobiles, trucks, and ATVs as necessary

Free Ski Coach

Free Ski Coach will provide coaching and competition training for athletes of HoliMont Ski Club as a leader for the Free Ski Program and an active member of an interdependent team dedicated to providing the best possible environment for each competitive free ski athlete. The coach will actively participate in staff training on and off the snow to better themselves and their team.  Successful Coach will work with athletes, guests, members, and other employees to provide a platform for a lifelong love of winter sports to grow on and off the job.  Coaches are evaluated on display and commitment to HoliMont Core Values, performance of duties, attendance and punctuality, skiing/riding ability, technical knowledge, and willingness to improve (participation in clinics, PSIA and AASI Certifications, etc.).

Free Ski Coach

  • Recognizes that service is our product and helping members and guests have a great skiing or riding experience is our primary goal.
  • Embodies safety and skier/snowboarder responsibility as top priority while skiing/riding and coaching.
  • Coaches group and individual athletes in all aspects of free skiing fundamentals and competition.
  • Attends home and away competitions with athletes.
  • Set and Maintain training and competition venues and environments.
  • Strives to improve their personal skiing/riding skills, coaching skills, and knowledge.
  • Appreciate that teamwork and cooperation with all resort employees and co-workers is essential for the success of the members, guest, Snowsports Department, and Club.
  • Serves as an ambassador for HoliMont Ski Club and Snowsports, both on and off the job.

  • Outside Roles include Snow Removal, including plowing, salting, shoveling, snow blowing
  • Inside Roles include general Janitorial roles, cleaning tables, sanitation, vacuuming, and sweeping
  • General Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance and repair.
  • Bathroom Cleaning and Pickup
  • Event Set up and Tear Down
  • Interact and communicate with all members and guests with grace and positivity.

  • Perform all duties assigned by the Lift Dept Supervisor and Lead Technician.
  • Ensure all lifts are maintained to ANSI B77 and NYS ICR 32 and manufacturers’ standards.
  • Assist in emergency situations such as lift evacuations.
  • Report and rectify any unsafe conditions.
  • Submit all required Work Orders in a complete and timely manner.
  • Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Assist in training and policy enforcement of seasonal staff.
  • Use courtesy and respect when dealing with management, staff, co-workers and guests.

Qualifications

  • Ski Lift Technicians must be a minimum of 18 years old with a “clean”, valid driver’s license.
  • Must have mechanical and electrical training and/or experience.
  • Ski Lift Technicians must be friendly, polite, and outgoing.

Requirements

  • Be able to work in Winter elements for extended periods, including physical activities such as climbing, working at heights, lifting, and walking. Training, including fall protection and fall rescue, and PPE, including helmets and harness, are provided.
  • Use personal protective equipment as outlined during training sessions.
  • The lift technician is exposed to fumes (i.e. welding), solvents, gases, lubricants and other environmental and physical hazards. Training and PPE are provided.
  • The lift technician is exposed to moderate to high noise levels, outdoor temperatures and weather, and confined spaces. Training and PPE are provided.

Terrain Park Crew Member

Terrain Park Crew is a labor-intensive position that is responsible for assisting in construction, maintenance, and repair of all features as well as promoting safety awareness, educating on Terrain Park etiquette, and providing positive guest relations within the terrain parks.

Snowsports Customer Assistant

The Snowsports Customer Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our members and guests by being well- informed and accommodatingly respectful.  Our staff must be HoliMont – core- values -oriented, enthusiastic, and cordial. Successful team members will assist members and guests with information, sales, and service.  The assistant will work closely with the administrative team in selling and scheduling lessons. Basic office tasks and additional duties will be assigned as needed.

Snowsports Customer Assistant

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist members and guests at the Snowsports Office
  • Manage and process lesson requests in person and over the phone
  • Use resort software to schedule and sell lessons
  • Conduct ticket sales, handle currency, and run a cash register
  • Data Entry and Administration support
  • Assist Snowsports Program Supervisors with additional tasks when necessary
  • Accommodate questions and requests from Instructors and Coaches

Mountain Operations Technician

The Mountain Operations tech is responsible for the upkeep, and maintenance of all snow guns and related equipment, being involved with capital projects and other various on hill maintenance. Skills in mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, equipment operation and various other skills are ideal for this position. The Technician will also be a Crew Leader who is responsible for the supervision of the snowmaking crew assigned to them, all the equipment and all the functions involved in snowmaking.  Technician will learn and understand the process of pumping water for the snowmaking process is a key part of winter operations and this function will be part of the training.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on snowmaking and related equipment
  • Assist with various capital projects
  • Various work on slopes and trails, drainage, trees etc.
  • Work closely with and assist other departments when necessary
  • Operate various equipment as necessary such as, UTV, Trucks, and Tractors etc.
  • Operate snowmaking equipment for creating manufactured high quality snow
  • Leading part time seasonal employees during snowmaking season.
  • The ability to work in adverse weather conditions include wind, snow, ice
  • Good communication skills and accurately follow instructions and give instructions and make sure they are carried out.

Qualifications

  • Good work ethic and dependability is a must
  • Good communication skills are expected
  • Mechanical experience required
  • Electrical experience required
  • Water pumping experience is a plus
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Various equipment operation is a plus
  • Supervisory/Leadership skills are necessary

Requirements

  • This position supports critical mountain operations and requires open availability Monday through Sunday, including weekends and holidays. Work shifts are scheduled in advance and rotate; employees are not scheduled every day but must be available during all operating periods.
  • This position works primarily outside year round
  • Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces.
  • Must remain alert and attentive at all times.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work in Winter elements for extended periods, including physical activities such as climbing, working at heights, lifting, and walking. Training, including fall protection and fall rescue, and PPE, including helmets and harness, are provided.
  • Use personal protective equipment as outlined during training sessions.
  • The Mountain Operations technician is exposed to fumes (i.e. welding), solvents, gases, lubricants and other environmental and physical hazards. Training and PPE are provided.
  • The Mountain Operations technician is exposed to moderate to high noise levels, outdoor temperatures and weather, and confined spaces. Training and PPE are provided.
