Event Coordiniator

Creates, develops, and oversees all Club social events, parties, and activities. The Event Coordinator will work with the Membership and Guests to plan, budget, schedule, and carry out HoliMont events through the calendar year. These events include, but are not limited to: Club parties, Après parties, holiday parties, on and off-site events, non-skiing on-hill events, banquets, meetings, and staff social events.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with the Social Committee, Club Management, and the Staff to develop, plan, budget, schedule, and execute HoliMont events. 
  • Prepare a detailed, itemized budget for each event for approval by Management in advance of the event. 
  • Produce a follow-up report within 1 week of each event covering: itemized actual costs vs budget, event attendance, what went right and not so right, commentary on the event as a whole, and recommendations for future similar events.
  • Work with HoliMont’s content and social media coordinator to generate and forward social media materials in advance of events (advertising) and post-event for documentation and social media posting.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to create HoliLeaf newsletter articles celebrating past events, and advertising upcoming events.
  • Develop and execute Club events specifically targeted to Trial Members and new Members for the purpose of integrating new families into the HoliMont family.
  • Work with the HoliMont Team, and Membership to explore and develop new revenue streams for the Club.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in developing, improving, and executing exceptional Member relations.
  • Work with the HoliMont Team and the Social Committee to develop and schedule the annual event schedule as part of the development of the HoliMont fiscal-year budget.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree preferred, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to coordinate a largely (sometimes exclusively) volunteer group to achieve superior results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and social skills – a solid understanding of “fun” and a dedication to same
  • A passion for outdoor recreation Preferred
  • Skill in effectively working with others in a team environment in order to achieve shared goals
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS Office, and desktop publishing software
  • Understanding of, and proficiency with social media
  • A strong and demonstrated aptitude for building long-term relationships with internal and external customers

Requirements

  • Work environment will include indoor (office, and Chalet), as well as outdoor activities
  • This position requires extensive and effective verbal and written communications
  • Must be comfortable working in fast-paced environments with large crowds, including during events, banquets, and parties, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail

Terrain Park Crew Member

Terrain Park Crew is a labor-intensive position that is responsible for assisting in construction, maintenance, and repair of all features as well as promoting safety awareness, educating on Terrain Park etiquette, and providing positive guest relations within the terrain parks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include opening and closing the terrain park, ensuring all signage is visible, testing features and assessing risk and liability each morning. The Terrain Park Attendant will provide exceptional guest service and work outdoors in all weather conditions for the entire day.

Ski Lift Technician

Ski Lift Technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair ski lift equipment as well as assist with the start-up and shut-down of the lifts daily.  Lift technicians must be able to read diagrams and schematics, manufacturer’s manuals, diagnose and repair electrical problems and perform other procedures requiring specialized training. The technician will also supervise seasonal lift operators and monitor their performance.

Ski Lift Technician

Ski Lift Technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair ski lift equipment as well as assist with the start-up and shut-down of the lifts daily.  Lift technicians must be able to read diagrams and schematics, manufacturer’s manuals, diagnose and repair electrical problems and perform other procedures requiring specialized training. The technician will also supervise seasonal lift operators and monitor their performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties assigned by the Lift Dept Supervisor and Lead Technician.
  • Ensure all lifts are maintained to ANSI B77 and NYS ICR 32 and manufacturers’ standards.
  • Assist in emergency situations such as lift evacuations.
  • Report and rectify any unsafe conditions.
  • Submit all required Work Orders in a complete and timely manner.
  • Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Assist in training and policy enforcement of seasonal staff.
  • Use courtesy and respect when dealing with management, staff, co-workers and guests.

Qualifications

  • Ski Lift Technicians must be a minimum of 18 years old with a “clean”, valid driver’s license.
  • Must have mechanical and electrical training and/or experience.
  • Ski Lift Technicians must be friendly, polite, and outgoing.

Requirements

  • Be able to work in Winter elements for extended periods, including physical activities such as climbing, working at heights, lifting, and walking. Training, including fall protection and fall rescue, and PPE, including helmets and harness, are provided.
  • Use personal protective equipment as outlined during training sessions.
  • The lift technician is exposed to fumes (i.e. welding), solvents, gases, lubricants and other environmental and physical hazards. Training and PPE are provided.
  • The lift technician is exposed to moderate to high noise levels, outdoor temperatures and weather, and confined spaces. Training and PPE are provided.

Rental, Retail, and Repair Supervisor

The Rental, Retail, and Repair Supervisor supports the Snowsports Department to oversee Rental Technicians, salespersons, and operations.  The Supervisor works with the team to maintain sales, customer satisfaction, and productivity.  This position will collaborate with Snowsports School, Administration, and Management to better serve our membership and guests.  They will assist in annual budgeting, product development and maintenance, and purchasing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and Schedule all Ski Shop Staff
  • Supervise all ski shop sales and operations.
  • Oversee and orchestrate retail inventory, ordering, and sourcing.
  • Keep an accurate daily cash account.
  • Assist all membership and guest with rental and sales.
  • Support the Rental Technicians to ensure annual binding manufacturer indemnification and weekly testing is complete.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Customer Service, computer, phone, and sales experience preferred.

  • Encourage and Assist Membership and Guests with Ski and Snowboard experience.
  • Assist Snowsports, Rental, and Management with Guest Service.
  • Attend Competitions with athletes and families.

Qualifications

  • USSS or Equivalent Certification Encouraged. 
  • Snowsports Instruction or Coaching Experience Welcomed.

  • Winter Sports Enthusiast.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to coach outdoors in inclement winter weather.
  • Fit and able to perform skiing or riding while assisting guests with equipment, loading, and unloading chairlifts, and down the mountain.
  • Some Lifting with assisting customers up and around the mountain.
  • Skiing and Riding with Competition Equipment.  i.e. gates, fencing, shovels, rakes, etc.

The coach will actively participate in staff training on and off the snow to better themselves and their team.  Successful Coach will work with athletes, guests, members, and other employees to provide a platform for a lifelong love of winter sports to grow on and off the job.  Coaches are evaluated on display and commitment to HoliMont Core Values, performance of duties, attendance and punctuality, skiing/riding ability, technical knowledge, and willingness to improve (participation in clinics, PSIA and AASI Certifications, etc.).

Free Ski Coach

Free Ski Coach will provide coaching and competition training for athletes of HoliMont Ski Club as a leader for the Free Ski Program and an active member of an interdependent team dedicated to providing the best possible environment for each competitive free ski athlete. The coach will actively participate in staff training on and off the snow to better themselves and their team.  Successful Coach will work with athletes, guests, members, and other employees to provide a platform for a lifelong love of winter sports to grow on and off the job.  Coaches are evaluated on display and commitment to HoliMont Core Values, performance of duties, attendance and punctuality, skiing/riding ability, technical knowledge, and willingness to improve (participation in clinics, PSIA and AASI Certifications, etc.).

  • Coaches group and individual athletes in all aspects of free skiing fundamentals and competition.
  • Attends home and away competitions with athletes.
  • Set and Maintain training and competition venues and environments.
  • Strives to improve their personal skiing/riding skills, coaching skills, and knowledge.
  • Appreciate that teamwork and cooperation with all resort employees and co-workers is essential for the success of the members, guest, Snowsports Department, and Club.
