Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring maintenance staff.
  • Maintain and repair buildings, roads, and grounds.
  • Perform mowing, snowplowing, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces.
  • Oversee shuttle transportation services for guests and members.
  • Manage janitorial services, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of facilities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialize repairs or services and manage relationships.
  • Coordinate event setups, including weddings and other gatherings.
  • Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Create and manage a cost center and annual budgeting for maintenance operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure safety and functionality of facilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of facility and grounds maintenance, snowplowing, and equipment operation.
  • General knowledge/experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Requirements

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in inclement weather, including extreme cold and snow.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing, and prolonged standing.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE when necessary.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Risk Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Development and Maintenance of Venue Safety Program and Maintenance
  • File and manage workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely communication with employees and insurers.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee and implement safety training programs for staff, ensuring all employees understand and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Conduct or oversee the completion of routine and specialized inspections of resort facilities, equipment, and operational processes to identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures to align with OSHA and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads to mitigate risks and implement preventative measures.
  • Act as the point of contact for external auditors, insurance adjusters, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents, inspections, and training for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Develop and Maintain Risk Management, Safety, and Ski Patrol Budgets.
  • Monitor emerging risks and industry trends to continually improve safety practices.
  • Lead the resort’s emergency preparedness and response initiatives, including drills and communication plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in risk management, workplace safety, or a related role; experience in the ski resort or hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address risks effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to train staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in incident management and computer software.
  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) are a plus.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, climbing, and prolonged standing.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme cold, snow, and varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to potential hazards such as icy surfaces, heavy equipment, and noise.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, or with fall protection as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn, meet, tour, and converse with the different departments of HoliMont for understanding and correct information.
  • Interview, Hire, Onboard, and schedule the customer service staff.
  • Sell and Upsell tickets other items as you help members and guests. Know the product to keep building.
  • Lead by example- accommodate customers who are here to have a memorable time at HoliMont.
  • Have the office organized and prepared.
  • Oversee ticket window opening money and daily closing at end of day. Check end- of- day reports and make sure everything is even.
  • Monitor and Track WEB sales each morning for lift tickets, member guest cards, and Weekday Experience pass purchases.
  • Make sure communications are open and delivered to all staff.

Qualifications

  • The customer service supervisor must represent HoliMont’s core values.
  • This supervisor needs to be organized, capable of delegating tasks, enthusiastic, and possess an accommodating and welcoming nature.
  • Customer service experience is necessary.

Requirements

  • Utilization of Point of Sale and Computer Software and Programs
  • Interacting with Membership and Guests in a positive and helpful manner
  • Standing for longer periods of time
  • Minimal lifting and carrying could be required.
  • Some days will have higher noise levels than others.
  • May need to be out in the weather for a few minutes.

Ski Lift Technician

Ski Lift Technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair ski lift equipment as well as assist with the start-up and shut-down of the lifts daily.  Lift technicians must be able to read diagrams and schematics, manufacturer’s manuals, diagnose and repair electrical problems and perform other procedures requiring specialized training. The technician will also supervise seasonal lift operators and monitor their performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties assigned by the Lift Dept Supervisor and Lead Technician.
  • Ensure all lifts are maintained to ANSI B77 and NYS ICR 32 and manufacturers’ standards.
  • Assist in emergency situations such as lift evacuations.
  • Report and rectify any unsafe conditions.
  • Submit all required Work Orders in a complete and timely manner.
  • Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Assist in training and policy enforcement of seasonal staff.
  • Use courtesy and respect when dealing with management, staff, co-workers and guests.

Qualifications

  • Ski Lift Technicians must be a minimum of 18 years old with a “clean”, valid driver’s license.
  • Must have mechanical and electrical training and/or experience.
  • Ski Lift Technicians must be friendly, polite, and outgoing.

Requirements

  • Be able to work in Winter elements for extended periods, including physical activities such as climbing, working at heights, lifting, and walking. Training, including fall protection and fall rescue, and PPE, including helmets and harness, are provided.
  • Use personal protective equipment as outlined during training sessions.
  • The lift technician is exposed to fumes (i.e. welding), solvents, gases, lubricants and other environmental and physical hazards. Training and PPE are provided.
  • The lift technician is exposed to moderate to high noise levels, outdoor temperatures and weather, and confined spaces. Training and PPE are provided.

  • Coach Skiing Fundamentals, Competition Techniques, and Tactics.
  • Promote HoliMont and Snowsports.
  • Design, Install, and Maintain Competition Venue, Environments, Courses, and Protective Measures.
  • Assist with Set up, operation, and tear down of competition events.
  • Encourage and Assist Membership and Guests with Ski and Snowboard experience.
  • Assist Snowsports, Rental, and Management with Guest Service.
  • Attend Competitions with athletes and families.
  • Additional Duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • USSS or Equivalent Certification Encouraged. 
  • Snowsports Instruction or Coaching Experience Welcomed.
  • Competition Background preferred.
  • Winter Sports Enthusiast.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to coach outdoors in inclement winter weather.
  • Fit and able to perform skiing or riding while assisting guests with equipment, loading, and unloading chairlifts, and down the mountain.
  • Some Lifting with assisting customers up and around the mountain.
  • Skiing and Riding with Competition Equipment.  i.e. gates, fencing, shovels, rakes, etc.

The coach will actively participate in staff training on and off the snow to better themselves and their team.  Successful Coach will work with athletes, guests, members, and other employees to provide a platform for a lifelong love of winter sports to grow on and off the job.  Coaches are evaluated on display and commitment to HoliMont Core Values, performance of duties, attendance and punctuality, skiing/riding ability, technical knowledge, and willingness to improve (participation in clinics, PSIA and AASI Certifications, etc.).

Free Ski Coach

Free Ski Coach will provide coaching and competition training for athletes of HoliMont Ski Club as a leader for the Free Ski Program and an active member of an interdependent team dedicated to providing the best possible environment for each competitive free ski athlete.   • Recognizes that service is our product and helping members and guests have a great skiing or riding experience is our primary goal.
  • Embodies safety and skier/snowboarder responsibility as top priority while skiing/riding and coaching.
  • Coaches group and individual athletes in all aspects of free skiing fundamentals and competition.
  • Attends home and away competitions with athletes.
  • Set and Maintain training and competition venues and environments.
  • Strives to improve their personal skiing/riding skills, coaching skills, and knowledge.
  • Appreciate that teamwork and cooperation with all resort employees and co-workers is essential for the success of the members, guest, Snowsports Department, and Club.
  • Serves as an ambassador for HoliMont Ski Club and Snowsports, both on and off the job.
