Ski Lift Technician

Ski Lift Technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair ski lift equipment as well as assist with the start-up and shut-down of the lifts daily.  Lift technicians must be able to read diagrams and schematics, manufacturer’s manuals, diagnose and repair electrical problems and perform other procedures requiring specialized training. The technician will also supervise seasonal lift operators and monitor their performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties assigned by the Lift Dept Supervisor and Lead Technician.
  • Ensure all lifts are maintained to ANSI B77 and NYS ICR 32 and manufacturers’ standards.
  • Assist in emergency situations such as lift evacuations.
  • Report and rectify any unsafe conditions.
  • Submit all required Work Orders in a complete and timely manner.
  • Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Assist in training and policy enforcement of seasonal staff.
  • Use courtesy and respect when dealing with management, staff, co-workers and guests.

Qualifications

  • Ski Lift Technicians must be a minimum of 18 years old with a “clean”, valid driver’s license.
  • Must have mechanical and electrical training and/or experience.
  • Ski Lift Technicians must be friendly, polite, and outgoing.

Requirements

  • Be able to work in Winter elements for extended periods, including physical activities such as climbing, working at heights, lifting, and walking. Training, including fall protection and fall rescue, and PPE, including helmets and harness, are provided.
  • Use personal protective equipment as outlined during training sessions.
  • The lift technician is exposed to fumes (i.e. welding), solvents, gases, lubricants and other environmental and physical hazards. Training and PPE are provided.
  • The lift technician is exposed to moderate to high noise levels, outdoor temperatures and weather, and confined spaces. Training and PPE are provided.

Competition Coach

Competition Coaches provide top-notch competitive ski coaching to members and guests. Coaches will work with the Snowsports Manager and Departments to provide continuity and consistency across all programs while instilling a lifelong love for winter sports in all.  Successful coaches will be ambassadors of HoliMont and HoliMont Snowsports.  Snowsports Team Members collaborate with Management and Operations Staff to ensure a top-notch venue, events, and program offerings.

Competition Coach

Coaches will work with the Snowsports Manager and Departments to provide continuity and consistency across all programs while instilling a lifelong love for winter sports in all.  Successful coaches will be ambassadors of HoliMont and HoliMont Snowsports.  Snowsports Team Members collaborate with Management and Operations Staff to ensure a top-notch venue, events, and program offerings.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coach Skiing Fundamentals, Competition Techniques, and Tactics.
  • Promote HoliMont and Snowsports.
  • Design, Install, and Maintain Competition Venue, Environments, Courses, and Protective Measures.
  • Assist with Set up, operation, and tear down of competition events.
  • Encourage and Assist Membership and Guests with Ski and Snowboard experience.
  • Assist Snowsports, Rental, and Management with Guest Service.
  • Attend Competitions with athletes and families.
  • Additional Duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • USSS or Equivalent Certification Encouraged. 
  • Snowsports Instruction or Coaching Experience Welcomed.
  • Competition Background preferred.
  • Winter Sports Enthusiast.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to coach outdoors in inclement winter weather.
  • Fit and able to perform skiing or riding while assisting guests with equipment, loading, and unloading chairlifts, and down the mountain.
  • Some Lifting with assisting customers up and around the mountain.
  • Skiing and Riding with Competition Equipment.  i.e. gates, fencing, shovels, rakes, etc.

Free Ski Coach

Free Ski Coach will provide coaching and competition training for athletes of HoliMont Ski Club as a leader for the Free Ski Program and an active member of an interdependent team dedicated to providing the best possible environment for each competitive free ski athlete. The coach will actively participate in staff training on and off the snow to better themselves and their team.  Successful Coach will work with athletes, guests, members, and other employees to provide a platform for a lifelong love of winter sports to grow on and off the job.  Coaches are evaluated on display and commitment to HoliMont Core Values, performance of duties, attendance and punctuality, skiing/riding ability, technical knowledge, and willingness to improve (participation in clinics, PSIA and AASI Certifications, etc.).

Free Ski Coach

Free Ski Coach will provide coaching and competition training for athletes of HoliMont Ski Club as a leader for the Free Ski Program and an active member of an interdependent team dedicated to providing the best possible environment for each competitive free ski athlete. The coach will actively participate in staff training on and off the snow to better themselves and their team.  Successful Coach will work with athletes, guests, members, and other employees to provide a platform for a lifelong love of winter sports to grow on and off the job.  Coaches are evaluated on display and commitment to HoliMont Core Values, performance of duties, attendance and punctuality, skiing/riding ability, technical knowledge, and willingness to improve (participation in clinics, PSIA and AASI Certifications, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recognizes that service is our product and helping members and guests have a great skiing or riding experience is our primary goal.
  • Embodies safety and skier/snowboarder responsibility as top priority while skiing/riding and coaching.
  • Coaches group and individual athletes in all aspects of free skiing fundamentals and competition.
  • Attends home and away competitions with athletes.
  • Set and Maintain training and competition venues and environments.
  • Strives to improve their personal skiing/riding skills, coaching skills, and knowledge.
  • Appreciate that teamwork and cooperation with all resort employees and co-workers is essential for the success of the members, guest, Snowsports Department, and Club.
  • Serves as an ambassador for HoliMont Ski Club and Snowsports, both on and off the job.
  • Welcomes and assists members and guests in a friendly, helpful, and respectful manner.
  • Reads and complies with the HoliMont Employee Handbook and Snowsports procedures.
  • Responsible for all information from Snowsports School morning meetings and weekly e-mail communications.
  • Supplies personal ski and board equipment and maintains it in a safe and functional condition.
  • Looks for ways to better serve the members, guests, Snowsports Department, and Club.

Qualifications

  • PSIA/CSIA/US Ski and Snowboard or USASA Certification preferred.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work long and irregular hours in all weather conditions.
  • May have to lift and/or support athletes during training or competitions.
  • Must wear an ASTM-F2040 approved helmet and provided Snowsports uniform at all times of work.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and busy periods.

  • Promote HoliMont and Snowsports.
  • Encourage and Assist Membership and Guests with Ski and Snowboard Instruction.
  • Assist Snowsports, Rental, and Management with Guest Service.
  • Additional Duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • PSIA/AASI or Equivalent Certification Encouraged. 
  • Snowsports Instruction or Coaching Experience Welcomed.
  • Skiing or Snowboarding Background.
  • Winter Sports Enthusiast.
